San Ramon, CA--Contra Costa District Attorney on Thursday named three of the suspects arrested in connection to the $1 million robbery at the City Center Bishop Ranch shopping center in San Ramon. Police in San Ramon arrested seven people after about 25 suspects stormed the Heller Jewelers at City Center Bishop Ranch on Sept. 22.

KRON 4 San Francisco reported that six adults and one child have been arrested in the case. Of those suspects, 31-year-old Michael Lamont Ray, Jr. of San Francisco, 19-year-old Ira Raheem Austin of San Francisco and 27-year-old Jimmy Mack Ray of Vallejo now face serious felony charges for “orchestrating a brazen armed robbery,” the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office reportedly said.

According to a previous report in ABC 7 News, the group entered with at least three guns and used crowbars and pickaxes to break display cases. Lt. Mike Pistello said the suspects “took over the store," seizing available merchandise.

Video showed the suspects trapped briefly inside due to a security door installed after a 2023 robbery. At least one fired rounds to break out, the report noted.

Police said the suspects arrived in six vehicles and carried out the robbery in coordination. A drone purchased with a retail theft grant recorded video of them as they left. Officers pursued but stopped after speeds passed 100 mph.

According to the report, three adults and a juvenile were arrested in Oakland with the assistance of Oakland police. Three more adults were detained at the Dublin BART station by Alameda County sheriff’s deputies. All suspects, ages 17 to 31, are from Oakland.

Police recovered two firearms, stolen jewelry, and several vehicles confirmed stolen. Detectives continue to search for additional suspects. Pistello said the group is believed to be connected to other Bay Area robberies.
