Per a report in the New York Post, the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at his pop-up shop on West 47th Street. Nisanov, known for his work with celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Usher, and Ice Spice, was threatened at gunpoint by two intruders who stormed into the shop around 1:30 a.m.

The report stated that the assailants stole a chain from a display case, with an estimated value of $1 million, before fleeing the scene. Their escape vehicle, believed to be a black sedan, possibly a Mercedes, was last seen heading west, per police reports.

Per the report, fellow jewelers in the district described Nisanov as a dedicated family man with a significant celebrity clientele. Speculations around the robbery suggest a possible set-up, as the visit by a customer at such an unusual hour seemed suspicious to some local jewelers.

Concerns have also been raised about the impact of Nisanov's active social media presence, potentially making him a target for such crimes. His store, renowned for its custom-designed, durable, and attractive jewelry, also stocks high-end watches from prestigious brands like Rolex, Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, with no suspects apprehended at this time.
