Beaumont, TX—In our ongoing series titled One Great Thing I Did Last Year (That You Can Do This Year)," The Centurion asks retailers to tell us about one outstanding thing they did in 2014 that turned out really well. This week, Brian Alter of Alter’s Gem Jewelry shares his insight.

“We are celebrating 100 years!” says Alter enthusiastically. Alter and his staff created a 100th Christmas community Christmas Tree, then invited the town to come by and see it. If community members could not see it in person, they could follow along on Facebook. His journey can be viewed through his Facebook posts from the 2014 Holiday season (related posts below).

And yes, moving forward a Christmas tree will be up each year. Along with celebrating such a great milestone, Alter has also started a Christmas tradition for his community.
