Over Half of Diamond Buyers Search for Stones Under 0.75 Carats April 18, 2025 (0 comments)

Newport Beach, CA--A survey of diamond jewelry buyers seems to contradict a common notion that consumers in recent years are requesting larger diamonds in recent years due to the increase in demand of lab-grown diamonds.
According to data exclusively obtained by Centurion based on website searches, more than half of diamond jewelry buyers are interested in diamonds no larger than three-quarters of a carat.

Based on more than a million website searches, 30.8% of browsers are searching for diamonds that are from 0.26 to 0.50 carats, by far the largest search results of diamonds based on size. Another 12.3% of searches are for diamonds no larger than 0.25 carats and 11% of searches are for diamonds from 0.51 to 0.75 carats.
Within this group are searches for diamonds from 1 to 1.25 carats (12.8%).
When it comes to larger diamonds, 8.2% of searches are for diamonds of more than 3 carats and 7.1% of searches are for diamonds from 1.51 carats to 1.75 carats.
The data on consumer website searches is provided exclusively to the Centurion by GemFind, a digital marketing and website design company. The findings are based on searches at hundreds of independent jewelers’ websites that GemFind manages.
