Parisian High Jeweler Boucheron Opens First Boutique In New York September 18, 2024 (0 comments)
New York, NY--It only took 166 years for the French high jewelry house, Boucheron, to open its first boutique in New York. The new 3,900-square-foot retail space on 747 Madison Avenue is being designed as a “bridge” between Paris and the Big Apple, honoring New York’s unique Art Deco architecture, Hélène Poulit-Duquesne, Boucheron’s CEO said.
For Poulit-Duquesne, the September 3 boutique opening was a “dream come true.” She was in New York September 10 to view the new store and to attend the opening of a three-day Boucheron exhibition titled, “From Paris to New York: A Cutting-Edge Journey Since 1858,” at the Cooper Hewitt Museum.
Previously, Boucheron, owned by French luxury holdings company Kering, offered its jewels at eight points of sale in the U.S. divided among Bergdorf Goodman, and select Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue stores. Poulit-Duquesne, during an interview with Forbes on September 10 at the museum, said that when she joined Boucheron in 2015 she had to determine strategically where to best place its resources to expand its global boutique network, which now stands at more than 90 boutiques.
