According to a news report, Dimitre Hadjiev, 41, of Upper Darby, PA, was charged after an investigation by the IRS and FBI. A raid in 2019 of his property revealed that he'd been knowingly purchasing and selling fake Rolex watches and customizing original timepieces with counterfeit parts.

Dimitres Jewelry and Watches and Ice Fire Inc. had been involved in the scam amounting to more than $750,000.

"The defendant trafficked in counterfeit merchandise and structured his deposits to conceal the cash flowing into his jewelry business," said U.S. Attorney Romero, per the report. "This Office and its law enforcement partners are committed to protecting consumers from unknowingly purchasing phony merchandise and to holding defendants accountable for their greed."

The jeweler promoted his business on YouTube and other social media channels, with some of his videos garnering thousands of views.

"The Special Agents of IRS-CI and our law enforcement partners will continue to investigate and bring to justice criminals like Mr. Hadjiev who partake in schemes like this out of greed," cautioned Yury Kruty, Special Agent in Charge of IRS-Criminal Investigation.
