Pittsburg, PA--Founded in 1887, Henne Jewelers, Pittsburgh's enduring jewelry and watch retailer, has continually evolved its presence throughout the city.

Their present establishment, located at the intersection of Walnut and Bellefonte Streets in the Shadyside district, was acquired by the Henne family for approximately $4 million. This pivotal acquisition laid the groundwork for a significant enlargement of the showroom.

According to a news report published in WatchPro, the current steward of the business, John Henne, represents the fourth generation of the family lineage. Over the past half-decade, he has meticulously planned to more than double the showroom's retail expanse. This reimagined space aims to captivate the aficionados of luxury timepieces, with a spotlight on Rolex, set to boast its distinct boutique and dedicated entrance post-completion.

However, the journey wasn't without obstacles. The report notes that the existing showroom houses offices and residences above it, segmented by an entrance and staircase that hinder the shop's visual flow. Such a layout posed a challenge in seamlessly integrating premium watch brands, exquisite jewelry, and a bridal section.

John Henne shared with WatchPro that the resolution entailed an innovative revamp of the entire tri-level edifice. The once problematic stairway has been ingeniously transformed into a central feature bridging two retail levels.

Upon its expected completion in January 2024, the ground floor will span 5,000 square feet, spotlighting the Rolex enclave and dedicated sections for Tudor, TAG Heuer, Grand Seiko, Montblanc, and select jewelry pieces.

Per the report, the upper level will allocate 3,000 square feet to bridal jewelry. It will be complemented by intimate consultation zones and a unique outdoor terrace, showing couples how engagement or wedding bands appear under the sun's rays.

Henne operates from an interim location, formerly a bar, within their owned redbrick structure as major renovations proceed.

Come November of this year, patrons can anticipate the unveiling of the primary retail section spanning two levels. After this, efforts will focus on rejuvenating the erstwhile bar to integrate it into the revamped showroom.

By the project's culmination, Henne's financial commitment will have surged by an additional $8 million, beyond the building's initial price. The revamp will also encompass the third-floor offices, which, as Mr. Henne envisions, will be so impeccably fashioned that they might enhance the overall customer journey.
