New York, NY--In a display of cross-cultural artistry, Italian luxury jeweler Pomellato and Chinese master craftsman Guo Weijin have collaborated to forge a piece of high jewelry.

The "Knot Butterfly" necklace, a symbol of the blend of two rich cultures, has been handcrafted using jade, gold, and 2,717 diamonds, centered around a 33-carat mandarin garnet.
According to a Facebook post by Pomellato, this singular creation is part of Vogue China's 'All Access' series, an initiative to bridge the gap between global creative forces and local Chinese artisans. The series highlights the importance of cultural exchange in high fashion and luxury goods.
The Knot Butterfly'necklace uses a traditional Chinese gold inlay technique, where gold-wire threads are intricately laid into carved jade, a method steeped in history and cultural significance. Complementing this ancient technique is the classic Milanese approach to gem-cutting and setting, for which Pomellato is renowned.
