Wright, 34, pleaded guilty on September 16, 2025, to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm, the report stated.

According to the report, Wright accepted responsibility for the June 10, 2022 armed robbery of Virani Jewelers in Iselin, New Jersey, involving about $1.2 million in gold jewelry; the October 25, 2022 armed robbery of Paradise Jewelry in Paterson, New Jersey, involving about $1.93 million in gold jewelry; and the December 6, 2022 armed robbery of Kishek Jewelers in Jacksonville, Florida, involving about $700,000. He also admitted to unlawful possession of a machine gun in Miami, Florida, on May 27, 2021.

The report said Wright led a 15-member crew that targeted South Asian jewelry stores between January 2022 and August 2023. Court documents cited in the report describe how the group researched targets, used rented or stolen vehicles with altered license plates, and carried out robberies with at least one firearm present.

As per the report, the crew broke into stores using sledgehammers, stole gold jewelry, and later fenced the items in Miami or melted the gold into bars for cash.

Wright was arrested on December 12, 2022, while leaving a nightclub, and authorities recovered more than $17,300 in cash linked to robbery proceeds, the report noted.

In addition to the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper ordered Wright to serve four years of supervised release.
