Omaha, NE—Borsheims’ jewelry made the runway sparkle during Omaha’s Fashion Week, with one runway show devoted to Borsheims product, and another featuring Borsheims’ jewelry collections as accessories for a formalwear designer.

Borsheims was a featured designer with a runway show during Friday night of Fashion Week. The models—Borsheims employees—dressed in all black so the audience could focus solely on the jewelry. They wore bangles in their hair and all over their arms, necklaces fashioned into a cape, and layers and layers of strands of pearls.

Many of the pieces were by designers Alexis Bittar, Charles Garnier, Roberto Demeglio, and Swarovski jewelry.

Borsheims also loaned estate jewelry to designer Jillian Fellers for her formalwear runway show. The antique and estate brooches were used to accent her bridal and evening gowns, with the models wearing the brooches in their hair and on their gowns.

Omaha Fashion Week is now the Midwest’s largest fashion event, and the fifth largest in the nation, surpassing the size of fashion weeks in Minneapolis, Denver, St. Louis, and Kansas City. The bi-annual event provides a platform to showcase the work of independent designers.

Borsheims was also the Red Carpet sponsor for Fashion Week. All attendees had their photos taken on a red carpet emblazoned with the Borsheims logo, and the jeweler also hosted a “Red Carpet Ready” event in early August to kick off Fashion Week festivities.
