Timonium, MD—Smyth Jewelers has promoted Robert Yanega to chief financial officer. Yanega, a 13-year Smyth veteran, joined the company in 2003 and has held various operational and administrative roles throughout his tenure.

Prior to becoming CFO, Yanega bolstered Smyth’s financial strategy, helping to foster a new banking relationship and catalyzed the profitable sale of subsidiaries. In his new position as CFO, Yanega will lead and manage all fiscal matters and provide tactical counsel for Smyth’s sustained growth and development.

“Robert was a natural fit for this executive position,” said company president Tom Smyth. “For more than a decade, he has laid the groundwork to become a leading advisor to Smyth Jewelers, and we have every confidence that he will continue to keep our company financially fit and poised to prosper.”

Yanega holds a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix. He has been a Baltimore resident since 2000, where he lives with wife Marian, and three children, Bobby, Lely, and Sadie.
