Retail News: Tiny Jewel Box Featured On Politico.com October 07, 2015 (0 comments)
Washington, DC—For more than 80 years, Tiny Jewel Box has been the jeweler of the free world. TJB goodies—bought and presented by U.S. presidents, first ladies, and secretaries of state, among other top leaders—are in the jewelry boxes of everyone from African diplomats to Queen Elizabeth II, who was presented with a vintage American brooch by the Obamas in 2011, when they went to visit her at Buckingham Palace. Earlier, Michelle Obama had presented Laura Bush with a silver pen from TJB to write her memoirs as she and George W. Bush departed the White House.
The venerable jeweler was recently featured in an article on Politico.com. The irony, of course, is that Tiny Jewel Box is one of the largest independent jewelers in the nation. With the completion of an expansion this fall, the store will top out at a whopping 20,000 square feet at the corner of Connecticut and M Streets.
Meanwhile, chairman Jim Rosenheim and president Matthew Rosenheim are mum on the details of who buys what, other than to say that they’ve served officials at the highest levels of all three branches of the federal government.
