New York, NY--Rolex has released its second authorized book, Oyster Perpetual Datejust – A Watch that Made History, a 224-page volume. Launched in 1945, the Datejust was Rolex's first waterproof, self-winding chronometer wristwatch with a date display. Per Wallpaper, the book outlines its development, including the addition of the Cyclops lens in 1953, and draws on Rolex archives alongside new and historical photography. It also features references to Rolex Testimonees and the model's presence in sport and the arts.
The book is available in English and French, priced at £100 or €125. Pre-orders opened on 9 September online, with general sales from 29 September.
Distribution will expand to official Rolex retailers and selected bookshops from October.
