A watch strap can be a magnet for dirt and grime, especially if it's made of rubber. Watch enthusiasts can keep their rubber straps looking new with a few simple steps.

The steps provided by Schwarzschild Jewelers are:

  1. Begin by detaching the strap from the watch. Once done, run it under warm water to rinse off any loose dirt or particles.
  2. Apply a mild hand soap to the strap and gently rub it using your fingers.
  3. Consider using minimal amounts of baking soda or toothpaste as a cleaning agent for areas with stubborn grime or dirt.
  4. A toothbrush, preferably with soft bristles, can lightly brush the strap. This ensures a deeper clean and helps reach the nooks and crannies of the strap.
  5. Once the cleaning is complete, rinse any remaining soap or cleaning agents from the strap.

As a word of caution, Schwarzschild Jewelers advises avoiding direct sunlight while letting the strap dry. This prevents any possible damage or discoloration from the sun's rays.
