Security To Be Topic Of Inaugural AGS Long Island Guild Meeting September 16, 2015 (0 comments)
Bellmore, NY—The inaugural meeting of the Long Island Guild of the American Gem Society will feature FBI Special Agent Daniel X. McCaffrey (left), who will discuss “Security In The Jewelry Industry.”
The event, open to everyone in the jewelry industry, will be held Monday, October 26, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Villa D’Acqua in Bellmore, NY. Cost is $45; tickets will be available online through Sunday, October 25.
McCaffrey has been a special agent with the FBI for nearly 18 years, assigned to the New York area. Prior to joining the FBI, he was director of retail operations at Tiffany & Co. for nine years. He is one of the leading U.S. law enforcement exerpts on criminals who attack the jewelry industry, and has a national reputation as the go-to law enforcement person for advice on jewelry crime investigations.
Agent McCaffrey uses a nationwide information-sharing network and has worked with police departments all over the United States to investigate and arrest jewelry crime gangs and individual criminals.
McCaffrey was presented with the James B. White Award to Law Enforcement by the Jewelers’ Security Alliance in 2006, and received the John J. Kennedy law enforcement award from AGS this year.
