San Antonio, TX—Shetler Fine Jewelers last week announced its acquisition of Medlars Jewel Masters, a business that restores, designs, and manufactures fine jewelry, after its owner retired.

The acquisition was reported in the San Antonio Express-News. Medlars employees will join Shetlers’ newly renovated location, which includes an on-site workshop says the paper. From the article:

“We are now able to provide an end-to-end experience for clients and expertly manage every touch point in the custom jewelry process to improve efficiencies,” said owner Michelle Shetler. “Adding the expertise of Medlars’ master jewelers means that we will be able to join two teams with a shared vision of delivering exquisite fine jewelry to amazing clients.”

“We’re honored to continue Medlars’ tradition of taking care of their existing clients, while also growing our offerings and skill sets,” she added.

Shetler Fine Jewelers dates to 2005 and carries an extensive selection of designer jewelry brands such as Marco Bicego, JB Star, Temple St. Clair, and many others, along with bridal jewelry and custom design.

The two stores have worked together for more than seven years, said Chapman Stout, the retired CEO of Medlars Jewel Masters, in a letter to customers. In his letter, he said the question he was asked most often during his retirement sale was who he recommended customers take their jewelry to after he closed. In announcing the acquisition and that his team of jewelers was transferring to Shetler Fine Jewelers, he said, “You can be confident that your valuable items will be handled with the same care and expertise you experienced with Medlars…

“Shetler Fine Jewelers will also offer the same level of skilled, creative custom design work you have come to expect from Medlars.”
