New York, NY--Smiling Rocks’ “Dream Necklace” sold for $122,000 at a charity auction for the recently held The Ormeley Dinner in London. Proceeds from the lab-grown diamond necklace benefitted Space for Giants and The Aspinall Foundation, which protects African habitats and restores species in those habitats.

The Ormeley gala dinner is a regular fundraising event that raises awareness of the plight of the rainforests. The most recent dinner, held July 17, was held at the Lindley Hall of The Royal Horticultural Halls, and was attended by world-famous musicians, royalty and high-profile figures in entertainment, fashion, politics and media.

Space for Giants and The Aspinall Foundation, which hosted the event, raised £1.6million ($2.7 million).

Smiling Rocks said its lab grown diamond necklace was specifically chosen to feature in the exclusive live auction and was the highest bidding item that was sold at the event.

The Dream necklace is studded with 54 lab-grown diamonds totaling 74.65 carats in 18k white gold. It’s the same necklace that was worn by Gigi Hadid at the 2023 Met Gala 2023, Catherine O’Hara on the 2024 Oscars and Camila Cabello during the 2024 Oscars pre-party event.

“We are thrilled to see a lab grown diamond necklace being the first of its kind to be auctioned with grace and luxury,” Zulu Ghevriya, co-founder and CEO of Smiling Rocks. “This is a sign of change and people’s acceptance towards a conscious and greener future. I’m very pleased to see the appreciation of the designs and the cause behind which brand is standing for are valued.”

Smiling Rocks has been a supporter of Space for Giants since 2020. The company says it has helped to build fences to reduce human-elephant conflict and have supported the organization’s “Stop the Illegal Wildlife” campaign.
