The local theater company is putting on the classic Christmas play this year, and if it does snow for real, Mitchell’s Jewelry will make a substantial donation to the theater.

Owners Newt and Gina Mitchell told The Norman Transcript that they’re longtime supporters of the Sooner Theatre, and knowing how much the arts are suffering because of the pandemic, they wanted to help. If on Christmas Day it snows at least one inch at Max Westheimer Airport in Norman, Mitchell’s Jewelry will donate $50,000, but even if it’s sunny and warm, they’ll still help the theatre. A portion of proceeds from all purchases made at the store from December 10-24 will be donated when customers show their souvenir tickets from the theater’s production of White Christmas, says the paper

Mitchell's Jewelry is a family-owned jewelry store founded in 1981. It’s been chosen repeatedly by locals in surveys as Norman's best jewelry store. Mitchell’s is a member of IJO, JA, and the Oklahoma Jewelers Association. The jeweler is the Norman area’s exclusive Master IJO Jeweler.
