"My reaction was stunned at first," said Joseph Caleca, owner of The Wrist Watcher, according to a SI Live report. "I'm glad everyone is safe. Materialistic goods can easily be replaced."
The report noted that the NYPD's major case squad had taken charge of the investigation. Caleca expressed satisfaction with the detectives' ongoing efforts, deeming their work "pretty neat."
"This is a minor setback for a major comeback," Caleca maintained, as per the report, believing that the event will not have long-term impacts on his business due to his comprehensive insurance coverage.
The report added that approximately 150 watches were stolen in the heist, according to an insider privy to the investigation. The NYPD released a surveillance video depicting five individuals with burglary tools and a dolly, forcing their way into the store.
In the report, The Wrist Watcher has appealed to the public for information. NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information requests anyone with information about the incident to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline.
