Los Angeles, CA—The Globes are Golden but the stars wore gold, diamonds (lots of diamonds!), platinum, rubies, palladium, and all sorts of precious things on the red carpet in Beverly Hills January 15. From jewelers-to-the-stars like Lorraine Schwartz to well-known industry names like Simon G., A. Link, Kwiat, and Le Vian, there was no shortage of sparkle last Sunday night in the City of Angels.

Some of the key trends that emerged:

Here’s a sampling of who wore what and where:

Golden Globe Best Actress winner Michelle Williams, who starred in the title role of My Week With Marilyn, attended the ceremony wearing a diamond garland headband (above left), diamond stud earrings, and diamond snake ring, all, Fred Leighton for Forevermark.

Actress Ashley Madekwe, who starred in Revenge, went to the InStyle and Warner Brothers Golden Globe after-party decked in an 8.07 ct. t.w. diamond lattice bracelet by A. Link for Forevermark and selection of diamond rings and bangles from Forevermark’s own collection.

Lots of stars chose platinum:

Angelina Jolie, left, wore platinum and diamond stud earrings (25 carats) and a platinum and diamond ring (12 carats) by Lorraine Schwartz, while Natalie Portman, right, wore platinum and diamond drop earrings, three platinum and diamond bracelets, and a platimum and pear shaped diamond cluster ring, all by Harry Winston.

Jessica Alba chose platinum earrings with diamonds (37.14 carats) by Bvlgari.  Paula Patton wore these platinum and diamond "Firecracker" earrings, along with diamond bracelets, all by Kwiat.

Other stars choosing classic platinum and diamonds were Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Biel (but no word yet of Justin Timberlake having placed any on her left hand), Claire Danes, Kate Beckinsale (300 carats of Lorraine Schwartz!), Jodie Foster, Stacy Kiebler, Sofia Vergara, Emma Roberts, Zooey Deschanel, Dianna Agron, Piper Perabo, Madonna, Queen Latifah, Andrea Riseborough and Jane Fonda.

Stars going avant garde with blackened platinum—some with diamonds, some with color—were Emma Stone, Lea Michele, Sarah Hyland, Debra Messing (with amethyst and emerald, no less!), Julianna Margulies, and Jane Lynch. Stars wearing colored diamonds or just classic color included Jessica Chastain in pearls, Diane Lane in yellow diamonds, Julianne Moore in emeralds, of course, and Helen Mirren and Tina Fey in sapphire.

Palladium made a strong showing at the Globes too. Giuliana Rancic of E! News wore Simon G.’s palladium diamond studs with a flower jacket, and Dana Kemp palladium and diamond sculpture ring, and later changed into Simon G’s pink and white diamond and palladium earrings.

It's ok if you can't decide what to wear: Giuliana Rancic changed clothes-and jewels--during the evening. It's an MC thing. But she wore palladium both tmes.

The boys were decked out too: George Kotsiopoulos of E! News, below left, wore a Sorella palladium tie bar and Jacob & Co. cuff links, below left. Meanwhile, at right, Maria Menounos, an Extra host, wore Dana Kemp fancy yellow diamond stud earrings, a Harry Kotlar fancy yellow diamond ring, and Andrew Meyer’s Asscher cut diamond eternity band, round diamond eternity band, and a Jacob & Co. diamond five-row floral bracelet, all set in palladium, of course.

.

Even broadcasters get in on the jewelry act.

More bevies of beauties in various combinations of palladium and diamonds were Kyle Richards in Jacob & Co., Callie Thorne in Unige and Noelle Leone, and Elizabeth McGovern in Simon G.

Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern chose Simon G.

TV chef Giada De Laurentiis wore Le Vian’s signature Chocolate Diamonds rose ring to the 13th Annual Warner Bros./InStyle after-party at The Beverly Hilton. Also in Le Vian at the InStyle/Warner Bros. party were actresses Alexandra Breckenridge in Couture Chocolate and Vanilla Diamonds in Strawberry Gold, Victoria Justice in a Vanilla Diamonds bracelet in white gold, Shay Mitchell in Super Gladiator earrings with Vanilla Diamonds set in Strawberry Gold.

TV chef Giada De Laurentiis knows when it's better to wear your chocolate than cook with it.

Alexandra Breckenridge, above left, opts for drop earrings from Le Vian, above right. Meanwhile, Shay Mitchell, below left, wore Le Vian's signature Super Gladiator earrings, while Victoria Justice shows off a bracelet from the jeweler.

Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, below, wore Le Vian’s Strawberry Gold and Blackberry Diamonds flower ring to the NBC Universal's after-party at The Beverly Hilton.
