Tucson, AZ--The International Gemological Institute (IGI) launched “GemPass by IGI” during the AGTA GemFair, GJX and Out of the Jewel Box (OJB Experience) trade shows. This new product offering gives wholesalers the ability to purchase packages of loose, colored gemstone reports at preferential pricing, with significant cost savings, IGI said.

GemPass allows companies to purchase bundles of 50 or 100 colored gemstone reports at a discounted flat fee, regardless of the stone’s carat weight or gem type. Bundles remain valid for 12 months from the purchase date. GemPass is available exclusively at IGI USA laboratories in New York City and Los Angeles.

“IGI USA’s new GemPass product combines efficiency and affordability while building on our decades of expertise in colored gemstone grading and analysis,” said Tiffany Stevens, IGI USA’s chief business Officer and head of Sustainability. “We're excited to introduce this solution where the colored gem world gathers, with a 30% Tucson-exclusive discount on new GemPass signups this week.”

GemPass offers three report formats:

  • Full Colored Stone Report (8.5" x 11"): Measurements, Weight, Species, Variety, Treatments, Shape/Cutting Style, Color and Transparency, Optical and Physical Properties, High Resolution Image
  • Colored Stone Dossier (5" x 7"): Same information as the Full Report in a smaller format.
  • Colored Stone Summary Card (3.75" x 2.25"): Everything above minus Optical and Physical Properties, delivered in a portable credit card format.

Each GemPass package provides one report format of the company's choice. While colored stone origin is not included with GemPass, it can be requested separately for an additional fee.

Stones can be submitted in person or by mail to IGI’s laboratories in either New York or Los Angeles. Reports are typically processed within 5-10 business days from the date received.
