Thieves Fail in Bold Daylight Attempt to Steal Luxury Watches from Sacramento Jewelry Store October 15, 2024 (0 comments)

Los Angeles, CA--An attempted robbery at DeVons Jewelers in Sacramento ended in failure as two suspects armed with sledgehammers tried to break into an outdoor display case containing luxury Rolex watches. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon and was captured on video, according to KCRA 3.

Despite their efforts to smash the display, quick-thinking employees managed to secure the valuable items, causing the suspects to abandon the attempt and flee. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and confirmed that the suspects could not steal any merchandise.

Deputy Andres Lopez from the sheriff’s office reported that employees swiftly removed the watches from the case, preventing the suspects from gaining access. Once the thieves realized the display was empty, they stopped their attack and fled in a vehicle.

In the report, local business owners, like Mark Sarale, expressed concern over the boldness of the attempted robbery, which took place in broad daylight. Sarale, who owns a neighboring juice bar, described the incident as shocking and dangerous for the surrounding community.

The report added that authorities are reviewing footage from surveillance cameras and using the area’s flock safety system, which includes license plate readers, to track down the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
