New York, NY—Tiffany & Co.’s flagship boutique caught fire Thursday morning just months after a multimillion-dollar renovation, according to several media reports.

New reports quoting New York fire officials and a Tiffany & Co. spokesperson, said an electrical fire started in the periphery of the basement of the building at about 9:30 a.m., just prior to opening that day. The fire was extinguished around noon, according to reports. Two minor injuries were reported. The jewelry store was expected to reopen Friday.

The iconic store, a cultural landmark with a storied history, reopened in April with a multi-day star-studded celebration, following a three-year renovation led by celebrated architect, Peter Marino with a three-story glass roof addition by OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture).

The owner of Tiffany, French luxury holdings company, LVMH wouldn’t reveal the cost of the renovation, but estimates range from a minimum of $250 million to $500 million.
