No larger than a grain of rice, this mechanism is a testament to Rolex's commitment to precision and durability.

According to a Facebook post by the jeweler, the Paraflex shock absorber has been masterfully engineered to counteract the daily jolts and jostles that watches endure.

With its swift motion, it shifts in one direction and then another within mere fractions of a second. This dynamic piece bends upon impact, effectively dispersing energy.

The watch's design allows for displacement, ensuring the seamless functioning of the balance wheel and the escapement anchor.

This dual action of deformation and displacement ensures that the Paraflex maintains the watch's movement and enhances its resilience.
