Oakland, CA--A wild shootout at a local jeweler resulted in the deaths of two suspected thieves and multiple gunshot injuries.
The shootout occurred September 10 at about 7:45 p.m. at Eddy Cash 4 Gold, according to local Fox news station, KTVU 2, quoting police. Two shop employees reportedly exchanged gunfire with five attempted robbery suspects and two of them died. Police reportedly said one of the suspects died inside the business at 7100 International Boulevard and the other died at the hospital.

Oakland Police Chief, Floyd Mitchell reportedly said at a press conference the following day that all five of the suspects were shot during the attempted robbery by two store employees who were armed. The three injured suspects were transported to area hospitals.
Mitchell reportedly said the two employees were shot and sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
KTVU reported that a source told the reporter that the shop owner was shot and is recovering in the hospital. Cellphone video showed a wounded store worker giving a thumbs-up to onlookers as paramedics wheeled him into an ambulance, the news station reported.
KTVU reported that it learned two of the suspects booked on suspicion of murder were Deshawn Tyson, 26, and Charles Gaston III, 28. Police did not identify any of the suspects but said the two who died were men. One suspect was a 17-year-old boy. All the suspects were reported to have been from Stockton.
Oakland police said the three surviving suspects were booked into jail on suspicion of armed robbery and murder, because authorities "believe that their compatriots were responsible for their deaths."
Police said the employees of the shop were not arrested.
Mitchell added that the final determination on what the suspects would ultimately be charged with would be made by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
