As reported by ABC News, the new defendants — a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman — were charged with organized robbery and conspiracy to commit organized robbery and remain in custody.

Prosecutors said three of five people arrested on October 29 were released, while two others were charged earlier this week.

The robbery took place on October 19, when four masked thieves stole eight pieces of jewelry worth about $102 million from the Louvre. Authorities said the theft lasted roughly seven minutes.

One suspect was detained at Charles de Gaulle Airport while trying to board a flight to Algeria, and another was stopped while preparing to travel to Mali. The stolen jewels have not been recovered.

The investigation remains ongoing.
