Wayne, PA--After 76 years of offering the Wayne community fine jewelry, Wayne Jewelers is closing its doors for good. Owner Wayne Reid is retiring with a liquidation sale of up to 70% off everything in the store.

Wayne Jewelers was originally established in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne in 1947. Current owner Wayne Reid, originally from Canada, joined the Wayne team in the late 1990’s to help for the holidays, and never left. The original owner retired after 50 years and eventually Reid was able to take over the lease. In 1999, the store reopened and Wayne has now been in business for 25 years.

Wayne Jewelers was known for offering beautiful traditional fine jewelry in classic styles, specializing in offerings like charm bracelets, lockets, pins and brooches that were destined to become family heirlooms. Set along the “Main Line,” the railroad connecting Philadelphia to Harrisburg, Wayne Jewelers has long been the go-to destination for the community’s gift-giving needs including bridal registries, engagement rings and the births of children.

“Seeing the children of clients reach a point in their life where they’re looking to buy engagement rings, grow their family and become part of the community, that’s what I find amazing,” Reid said. “To see the growth of the community and the continuing patronage of these families to Wayne Jewelers has been really special.”

In retirement, Reid plans to travel and spend more time with his wife.
