London, UK—It’s not just diamonds that consumers need to feel confident in trusting. Trust and confidence also will be needed throughout the colored gemstone supply chain, as digital technologies transform colored gemstone trading, says Iris Van der Veken, executive director of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
To that end, RJC is sponsoring a free webinar, “Building Consumer Confidence in Coloured Gemstone Trading in the New World,” with Van der Veken, GIT director Sumed Prasongpongchai, and Tony Brooke, vice president of the Thai Gem and Jewellery Traders’ Association.
The colored gemstone sector is highly fragmented and geographically very diverse, says Van der Veken. “[RJC is] committed to be an important catalyst for positive change in working together with the colored gemstones industry and our members to build strong resilient communities.”
