According to an announcement by the jeweler, entries must include a hand-drawn illustration alongside a brief handwritten narrative detailing the inspiration. Submissions are accepted through the jewelry store's official website.
Zachary’s Jewelers notes that a panel will evaluate submissions based on creative merit, the accompanying written story, and the practical feasibility of manufacturing the design. Three overall winners will be selected.
The chosen students will have their illustrations crafted into actual jewelry pieces, which will be awarded during a scheduled brunch in May. Additionally, Zachary's Jewelers will contribute $500 to the art department of each winning student's school.
The previous year's victorious designs included a red oak leaf necklace by Lucian, a two-tone tree ring by Helen, and a dreamcatcher necklace by Neil.
