The grant was open to businesses across all sectors. Applicants were asked to explain how they bring "humanity to retail" and describe their community engagement, employee support, and efforts to create positive change through their operations, according to the report.

The initiative was partly inspired by COO Constance Polamalu's visit to Botswana, where she observed the Diamonds Do Good program, which supports communities through ethical diamond practices.

Applications closed on July 1. Businesses were required to submit a narrative detailing their operations, workplace culture, community contributions, and how the funds would help expand their impact.
