After this edition of The Centurion went to press, we received the following letter from Capri Jewelers, who asked us to share it with our readers:
"It is with great sadness and regret that we must share with you the untimely passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Chris DeCapri, Founder and CEO of Capri Jewelers in Richmond, VA. As some of you may know, Chris had bravely struggled with his health over the past several years and had always been a fighter and a survivor. His strength carried over to his business as he became one of the most successful independent jewelers in Virginia. He leaves behind a legacy of a thriving business entering its 30th year with an incredibly loyal clientele. Chris was a leader in his industry. He was a leader in his community, and his personal and professional contributions will be remembered by all.
As a highly competent businessman, Chris planned for the future success of his business and had a solid plan and protocol in place. Cynthia Woo, Vice President of Capri Jewelers will immediately assume leadership and will continue to manage the business as she has for over 9 years. Cynthia comes from a family of jewelers and Chris trusted Cynthia’s experience and great knowledge of their industry. Over the years, he shared with her his intentions to continue as a market leader in trends, brands, and client service. Capri Jewelers will maintain its position of strength in the marketplace with a highly experienced and loyal staff, personally trained by Chris.
Chris’ passing is a great loss to his family, friends, and colleagues. However, his legacy will continue to be an honor to the man who built this strong footprint in our community.
