Don’t Put Your Website Link In Your Social Posts |  June 15, 2023 (0 comments)

Facebook and Instagram hate allowing users to leave their app. In fact, you’ll notice that when you add a link to an outside website in your social post, your engagement/visibility of that post drops dramatically. This is no coincidence.

Social accounts want you to stay on their website, and will heavily penalize posts that contain outside links.

It's very discouraging for people who invest time into their social.

So how do we fix this?

Many popular social experts use a program called LinkTree (or other programs that are similar to this). This lets you say “link in bio” in your post. Then the user can go to your profile, click that link, and access what you wanted them to access.

It’s not a perfect solution, but its very good. LinkTree lets you create a menu of different items, too. So when your visitor goes to your “link in bio” and then clicks that link, you can set a whole menu to open up with different links.

Eventually, Instagram and FB may allow us to post links with no penalty in our posts. But thats just not how it is right now.
