Merrick, NY -- I've been contemplating writing this article for some time, and never really knew the best way to say it. So I will just say it...


I've worked with dozens and dozens of clients who use GoDaddy for their web hosting. The GoDaddy services are fine. But the problem is their horrendous customer support.

Customer support is one of the most important things to look for when choosing a web hosting company. Sometimes a website may experience some server down time or something may temporarily disable the site. A good web hosting company should help you fix these simple problems quickly and with little issue.

However, without fail, 100% of the time, I need to speak to GoDaddy 4-5 different times to solve an issue. 

This is always how it goes:

1. Wait 20 min in the customer service wait line

2. Go through their verification process (which often takes twice as long because you need to copy a PIN number from a different page, and the chat often closes out)

3. Explain my problem clearly about 6 times for the customer service rep to understand what I'm saying.

4. GoDaddy rep explains "not to worry", the problem can easily fixed and they will fix it.

5. Two days later I see that the problem is still happening, and the original rep fixed nothing when I spoke to them.

6. Repeat the whole process 3-4 more times.

It's pretty insane how difficuilt it is. Especially when companies like WPEngine (who I use exclusively for hosting) will help you with simple or complex tasks in a matter of minutes with complete understanding of what you're trying to do.
