The easiest way to grow a TikTok following isn’t necessarily the laziest way — but it is the path that takes the least wasted effort. It’s about working with the algorithm and audience habits rather than against them. Here’s the distilled, no-fluff strategy:

1. Post a lot at the start

The more you post, the more data TikTok has on who likes your content.

For the first month: aim for 1–3 posts daily. Short, quick ideas work best — don’t overproduce.

Even if early videos flop, some will take off and bring you your first wave of followers.

2. Hook in the first 2 seconds

People scroll fast. Use movement, text on screen, or an intriguing first line to stop them.

Avoid long intros — start mid-action or with the punchline teased.

3. Use trends strategically

Hop on trending sounds, formats, and hashtags — but always give them your niche spin.

Example: If the trend is a popular audio clip, use it to make a joke relevant to your niche, not just a generic post.

4. Engage, don’t just post

Reply to comments with new TikToks (the algorithm loves this).

Comment early on trending videos in your niche to get noticed by their audience.

5. Study your analytics & double down

After 20–30 posts, look for patterns: Which topics, styles, and lengths get the most views and follows?

Make more of those — even if they feel repetitive. The audience likes familiar variations, not constant reinvention.

6. Keep videos short (under 15 seconds) at first

TikTok’s main metric is watch time percentage. It’s easier to get people to watch 100% of a 10-second clip than a 60-second one.

Once you build trust with your audience, you can experiment with longer formats.
