There's a difference in marketing strategy between getting found online nationally and getting found in a local market.

Anyone who operates in a local market needs to prove to Google that you’re a storefront at the location you say you are.

A primary way Google verifies this is by checking the web for other references of your business name and address. For example - if you’re listed in Yelp or any other online directories in addition to the address on your website, Google recognizes that you’re a real business at that location.

A listing in a directory like this is called a Citation, and it’s an important part of every jewelry store’s local SEO strategy.

Even if you don’t plan on being very active on these directories, it’s SEO value is still strong. Make sure to include your business in as many local directories as possible!
