London, United Kingdom--Retailers are combatting increasing input costs and cautious shopping behavior, notes a new report by Bain & Company, highlighting that stubborn inflation is expected to push holiday sales within a range of their forecasted 7.5% year-over-year growth.

The report notes that retailers are increasing revenue margins and transactions amid these inflationary pressures, with growth leaders being more selective about where to raise their prices and offer promotions.

The research led by Bain & Company found out that shoppers care more about deriving value from their purchases than giving into sales or promotions. With that, they are also shifting their spending so retailers can get some value out of it.

An essential tool to communicate value to consumers is pricing, which is often used as a medium to invite customers in.
