The jeweler supplies a presentation folder and gift certificate ($50, $100, or more) to the auto dealer, who then presents it to the customer with compliments. The cross promotion works year-round because it represents a third-party endorsement of the jewelry store, says Porte.
The auto dealer can present the gift to customers either with the purchase of their new car, in their service department, or as a holiday card mailer in December.
