The Anaheim Police Department said four masked suspects entered the store at 638 W. La Palma Ave. at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22. Armed with hammers, the group smashed glass display cases and stole jewelry. A customer was pushed aside by one of the suspects during the incident, resulting in minor injuries, per the report. The suspects fled the scene in a green Dodge Charger.
This same Don Roberto’s Jewelers location was also robbed on Tuesday, July 15, at nearly the same time of day, the report noted. In that earlier incident, eight suspects escaped in two vehicles. Police intercepted one of the cars, and four juveniles along with one adult were arrested after fleeing into a Buena Park neighborhood and hiding in a residential backyard.
According to the report, the store had not yet repaired the damage from the first robbery before the second attack occurred.
