Shinola Brand Looking To Expand

Plano, TX—If you don’t know “stuff” from Shinola, you’re about to learn. Luxury jewelers are familiar with the brand’s Detroit-made watches, (represented by ViewPoint Showroom) which form the core of the brand, but the name also graces a host of products ranging from bicycles to leathergoods and more. According to this report, the brand name actually dates back more than 100 years, but was only recently resurrected with the launch of the retro-styled watch line. The watches are available in Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks, and Barneys, as well as other upscale jewelry retailers and in Shinola’s own retail stores in New York City, Kansas City, and Detroit. But the brand is looking to increase its footprint significantly in 2014, with both new stores—three in the United States and two in Europe—and new products like jeans and cola set to launch.

Shinola’s parent company, Bedrock, is owned by Tom Kartsotis, is no stranger to the watch world: he’s the former head of Fossil.
