Gumuchian Generates Buzz For Honeybee Conservation Efforts

New York, NY—Many people instinctively view bees as dangerous menaces worthy of extermination. They may not realize that honeybees are generally docile, highly complex, and crucial players in our both food system and the biodiversity of flora on our planet. Gumuchian is committed to helping preserve this ultra-important species that means so much to our planet and our survival.

Through sales of its “B” collection, Gumuchian helps support two organizations that focus on preservation and education about honeybees.

City Growers tackles bee misconceptions by bringing New York City city children into the fascinating inner workings of honeybee colonies, and allowing their inevitable awe and wonder to defeat fears. City Growers' Honeybee Education programs have been so popular that they have begun an expansion plan to meet the demand from schools across all five boroughs. Gumuchian's support through sales of its “B” Collection enables City Growers to start new hives and educate more kids about the importance of bees in their food system and environment. Because of Gumuchian's generosity, more NYC kids will cultivate respect for the honeybee, and join the fight to save the bees.

And in Pasadena, CA, nonprofit Honeylove.org, hosted a Natural Beekeeping Conference August 20-21, sponsored in part by Gumuchian. The 2-day conference, held at the Pasadena Masonic Temple, was filled with educational lectures and workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and the latest in natural beekeeping techniques and findings.

Chelsea McFarland, co-founder of HoneyLove, said, "The conference lectures were led by the top minds in natural beekeeping, and attended by over 100 beekeepers and HoneyLovers. Thank you to Gumuchian for all of their support in making the weekend a success!"

Aaron Shum, Reena Ahluwalia Announce Collaboration

Hong Kong—Aaron Shum Jewelry, creators of the patented Coronet setting (and the Guinness World Records Coronet Diamond Guitar and Gemstone Bass Guitar), has collaborated with acclaimed jewelry designer and diamond painter Reena Ahluwalia to launch Coronet portrait painting to showcase the patented diamond setting technique.

Each piece of Coronet is made from seven high caliber diamonds set with no prongs holding the center diamond, along with precision of cut, symmetry and polish, to present a luminous solitaire diamond effect at highly competitive value.

Ahluwalia’s portraits will be unveiled September 15 at the Aaron Shum Jewelry Booth (HKCEC Hall #1C 402, C404, C501, C503) during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. In addition to the Coronet portrait painting, the exhibition will feature seven art pieces from Ahluwalia’s Diamond Portrait Series for the very first time, including three of her latest creations: Heart of Gold, Pure Heart, and Passionate Heart. The parties will also announce a jewelry design collaboration to be launched at VicenzaOro 2017.

Ahluwalia paints highly nuanced, hyper-realistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets. Her paintings are large and incredibly detailed. Her work is in distinguished art collections worldwide, was shown at the Art Miami Fair, and was featured on the cover of World Diamond Magazine. It also has been sold to benefit Jewelers For Children.

The Coronet portrait is acrylic on a 48” x 48” canvas. The painting embraces the solitaire effect of Coronet and depicts the highly refractive trait of the patented setting. The Coronet portrait is scheduled to exhibit in the upcoming VicenzaOro and Baselworld.
