Jewelers Mutual Launches New Two-Minute Shipping Tips Video
Neenah, WI—In less than two minutes, jewelers can learn how to avoid costly shipping losses by watching a new video created by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. "Ship Jewelry Safely and Securely" is a new video teaching tool that can aid jewelry businesses in avoiding shipping losses. (Editor's note: a box tied up with string is not a good way to ship!)
The video is just one component of a new loss prevention resource on JewelersMutual.com' s Safety and Security page . In this online resource, Jewelers Mutual breaks down effective loss prevention strategies into weekly tips and information that is easy for jewelry store owners and managers to share with their staff.
"Jewelers Mutual has been a resource for jewelers for 100 years now, helping them to protect their businesses. We decided to launch this new Safety and Security page with a shipping video because, frankly, you would indeed be shocked by the number of insurance claims that result from shipping losses," said David Sexton, vice president of loss prevention at Jewelers Mutual.
Sexton added, "Losses like these are preventable. We know jewelry professionals are extremely busy people at this time of year, so we created this quick reminder which they can share with their staff and colleagues in just two minutes."
Some of the shipping tips Jewelers Mutual recommends are using layered boxing techniques and packing materials to avoid shifting and damage during transit. Senders should disguise return addresses, address the package to an individual rather than a jewelry business, and request a signature upon delivery. Paying attention to these and other details can deter thieves and help ensure that your package is delivered on time and intact.
Many of the new features of the loss prevention page, including weekly tips and short videos, were inspired by Jewelers Mutual's Jewelers Advisory Council, a group of jewelry business owners who meet regularly to discuss the needs of jewelers and how Jewelers Mutual can serve the industry. Lyon Fine Jewelry Unveils New Collection at Kiki de Montparnasse
New York, NY– Lyon Fine Jewelry will unveil a new collection of fine jewelry at luxury lingerie boutique Kiki de Montparnasse on December 5th in New York City. The collection will subsequently be available in three Kiki de Montparnasse locations: New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas after the premiere.
Designer Lauren Bedford Russell, best known as the pink-haired star of the reality show “The Real L Word,” launched her collection of sexy and edgy fine jewelry in Los Angeles while taping the show in 2012.
“Kiki de Montparnasse is the perfect place to sell my collection. Jewelry has the power to transform a moment, a mood, and a life, just like lingerie. When walking into Kiki de Montparnasse, one is enveloped by the brand and its luxurious treasures.”
The jewelry is predominantly comprised of black rhodium sterling silver, paired with black diamonds, black jade, and the occasional touch of gold. Russell takes pride in using only conflict-free gemstones and is committed to “Made in America;” more specifically, made in New York. Key pieces to be available at Kiki de Montparnasse include a sultry body jewel called the Larouche body chain, the Octavia Equality Ring (which sheds light on sexual orientation equality) and the tough and tender Toronto Knuckle Ring (which spans three fingers) in polished sterling silver with black diamonds.
