Car Purposely Rams Westwood Jewelers In Robbery Attempt December 07, 2021 (0 comments)
Los Angeles, CA—Following a half dozen cars crashing into jewelry stores by accident this year, a would-be burglar intentionally drove a car into the display window of Westwood Jewelers recently. Fox 11 TV in Los Angeles reports the burglars didn’t get much—the items in the front window weren’t especially valuable—but the jeweler’s front window was destroyed and that’s going to be expensive to fix.
This is the seventh time the jewelers have been robbed in 20 years. Owners Arthur and Sarah Kirakossian expressed their frustration that it happened even with all the security—gates, cameras, motion sensors—they’ve installed, and believe there needs to be a greater police presence in the area.
“With all that time and effort [the burglars] to break into our store, they could have put that to learn a trade and earn legit money instead of stealing from hardworking taxpayers,” Sarah Kirakossian told Fox 11.

The loss could have been far more costly: gates prevented the car from entering the showroom or gaining access to the safe filled with luxury jewelry, as Arthur Kirakossian is no stranger to high jewelry. A third-generation jeweler, he immigrated to the United States from Armenia and has done manufacturing for luxury brands such as Tiffany, Cartier, and Gucci, as well as for luxury retailer Neiman Marcus. He and Sarah moved their business from Beverly Hills to Westwood 13 years ago.
The gate stopped the burglars' car from entering Westwood Jewelers' store, but the front display window was destroyed.
