Erica Courtney Jewelry Sparkles at BET Awards, in HOLA! and Soaps in Depth

Los Angeles, CA—Female hip hop pioneer MC Lyte attended the 2012 BET Awards in Erica Courtney’s 18k gold, citrine, and diamond square necklace, 18k gold and diamond yellow beryl snake ring, and various 18k gold knotted bangles. Joan Rivers Wears Vahan

Los Angeles, CA—Fashion’s top cop, Joan Rivers, recently wore a stack of Vahan bracelets and chunky onyx ring for an episode of Fashion Police. In it, she interviews Francesca Eastwood, star of Mrs. Eastwood and Company, about why she burned a $10,000 Hermes crocodile Birkin bag.

It turns out that the bonfire was for the benefit of Eastwood’s husband, as part of a film he was making about material values. But it does beg the question—which other guests on the program did ask—what, exactly, was to be gained by burning the bag vs. auctioning it off and donating the funds to charity. Click here to watch and see if you’re satisfied with the answer. (This editor thinks that while Hearts On Fire is a good idea, Hermes on fire, not so much.)
