Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada--Transitioning from a thirteen-year teaching career in Alberta, South Korea, and Nova Scotia, Rebecca LaPointe ventured into entrepreneurship in Truro, establishing Beck & Boosh Jewelry, offering an assortment of unique, accessible, and elegant jewelry, LaPointe endeavors to instill self-kindness and assurance in women.

According to a Saltwire report, LaPointe's journey into jewelry making began as a hobby, shared with a business partner, which soon evolved into a full-fledged business. Her learning process was mostly self-taught, supplemented by advice from friends and internet tutorials, characterized by a fair share of trials and errors.

The report noted that at her store, customers also had the opportunity to tap into their creativity, designing their pieces. Eventually, LaPointe left her teaching job, spurred by her husband's encouragement to "go for it" and embark on her entrepreneurial journey.

By 2015, LaPointe became the sole proprietor of Beck & Boosh, opening a retail location in downtown Truro and distributing her jewelry to over 30 locations nationwide. The business's name combines LaPointe's nickname, Beck, and her business partner's familial nickname, Boosh.

As per the report, in 2018, a severe concussion marked a turning point for LaPointe, forcing her to reevaluate her business and prioritize her health. She subsequently launched a consulting and social media management venture, and after completing an intensive therapy program, she returned to jewelry crafting, albeit on a reduced scale.

The report noted that currently, LaPointe designs a small portion of her collection, which includes earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, while the rest of the offerings are either curated or designed and produced by other artisans.

As per the report, apart from managing her online store and social media content, she also consults for businesses and runs the social media pages for NovelTea Coffeehouse and Bakery.

Customers can purchase Beck & Boosh jewelry at the NovelTea Bookstore in Truro or via her online store, which offers free local pick-up and shipping options.
