Former Auction Executive To Head Business Development At Gembridge Digital Trading Platform December 28, 2020 (0 comments)

Singapore—Renowned gemologist Helen Molesworth, FGA, has joined Gembridge, a new regulated digital platform for trading in colored gemstones, pearls, and jewelry. She has been named head of business development.

Gembridge is pioneering the digital transformation of the certified coloured gemstone, pearls and jewellery trade by providing a marketplace for verified members to buy, sell and consign, via a secure and insured door-to-door service. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Molesworth has a broad commercial, international and academic background in the industry in Europe and Asia. She is a Fellow of the Gemmological Associations of Great Britain and Hong Kong, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in London, and has published and lectured widely on gems, ancient through modern. She created the texts for the Gübelin Gem Portraits and is co-author of The Complete Content Cameos.

During a decade as a jewelry specialist for Sotheby’s and Christie’s in London and Geneva, Molesworth researched and valued many world-class gems and important collections and was the specialist in charge of valuing, researching, and selling the private jewelry collection of HRH the Princess Margaret in London in 2006.

In 2011, she became a professor of gem history in Geneva, then joined Gübelin as managing director to create, launch and run its colored gemstone Academy, writing all the courses and building the business in Switzerland, Hong Kong and China.
