Susan Jacques Receives ICA Lifetime Achievement Award Ahead of Retirement From GIA June 03, 2025 (0 comments)

New York, NY--Susan Jacques, president and CEO of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA).

The award was presented during a Gala Dinner at the conclusion of the May 19–22 ICA Congress in Brasília, Brazil, as reported by Professional Jeweller.
Jacques, who will retire from her role at GIA by the end of 2025, was recognized for her longstanding contributions to the gemstone industry. According to the report, ICA President Damien Cody highlighted Jacques' dedication and professionalism, while ICA CEO Doug Hucker described her as an example of leadership excellence in the field.
Jacques expressed her gratitude for the recognition, acknowledging her 45-year career in the industry. The report noted that she has been with the GIA since 2014, when she was appointed president and CEO, following a six-month interim tenure as CEO.
Jacques previously served on the GIA Board of Governors from 1996 and chaired the board from 2008 to 2014.
Per the report, Jacques' leadership at GIA will conclude at the end of 2025.
