Merrick, NY—We would like to wish all our Indian friends a very happy Diwali! Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights that symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Sikhs and Jains also celebrate the festival, which began November 7 and lasts for five days. It’s the most anticipated and celebrated festival in India, marked by gift-giving and special sweet treats. Diwali is celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Kartika on the Hindu calendar; on the Gregorian calendar its dates shift between mid-October and mid-November.
