New York, NY—Jewelers for Children, the industry’s leading charity, is "Marching for A Cause", and hoping jewelers and designer/manufacturers will do the same this month.

For the "March for A Cause" promotion, designers/manufacturers choose a specific piece (or entire line) and their retail partners promote it throughout March. Both the designer/manufacturer and the jeweler donate a small portion of each piece sold to JFC. Manufacturers already part of the program include: Honora, Hearts on Fire, Vardi Group, Martin Flyer, Colorcraft, Quality Gold and Andrew Meyer Designs.

JFC provides marketing support for this program with a turn-key marketing package that includes: public relations information, in-store signage, print advertising, radio scripts, Facebook updates, in-store event ideas, website banners and a webpage for each participant's website. Separately, the charity will again spotlight how many now-healthy children the industry has helped during its annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas, held each year. The 2012 honorees at this prestigious event are Pamela Mortensen of J.C. Penny and Ruth Batson of the American Gem Society.

“Over the last 13 years, Jewelers for Children, through its efforts, has contributed nearly 37 million dollars to the goal of saving children. I am very grateful to have played a small part in such an amazing positive force in our industry,” said Ruth Batson, executive director of the American Gem Society. “As one of this year’s Facets of Hope honorees, I couldn’t be more proud of what JFC has accomplished. I stand in awe of the industry with a heart!”

The event will be held during the JCK Las Vegas Show, Sunday June 3, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino in the South Seas Ballroom. The evening includes a cocktail reception beginning at 6pm, dinner and the program at 7:30pm and an after-party sponsored by JCK.

“We welcome the entire industry to this wonderful evening,” said JFC Executive Director David Rocha. “This evening celebrates the generosity of the industry and the number of children that are helped by that support. Attendees will hear from some of the children that have been helped.”

The evening benefits JFC’s Legacy Charity Partners: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, the National CASA Association, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
