JSA: Holiday Weekend Burglary Alert! July 01, 2020 (0 comments)
New York, NY—In the last few weeks, as stores have re-opened, professional burglars have again become active doing rooftop burglaries and cutting into safes. The Fourth of July weekend has historically been a very active time for jewelry burglars, and the Jewelers’ Security Alliance advises a heightened alert for the coming holiday weekend.

JSA’s recommendations:
- An owner or employee must respond to ALL cases of an alarm condition or power interruption at a store. Make sure your call list at the alarm company is up-to-date and that an appropriate person on the list will be available on the holiday weekend, probably in the middle of the night.
- Do not go without police or guard accompaniment.
- A full inspection of the interior and also of the roof, sidewalls, and all possible points of entry should be made.
