Lam-Basted! Texas Jeweler Who Vanished With Customers’ Money Apprehended July 05, 2021 (0 comments)
Miami, FL—Santiago Mora (image), the owner of ALKU Jewels in Katy, TX, has been arrested. The jeweler, who went on the lam after defrauding customers of millions of dollars, was found and arrested by FBI agents in Miami late last week.
KHOU-TV 11 reports that both local and federal agents received numerous tips after initial reports broke about Mora’s disappearance and his habit of “ghosting” of clients to whom he owed money. He has been indicted for federal crimes related to the allegedly fraudulent scheme to sell Rolex watches, and also is accused of theft and fraud-related crimes in Fort Bend County, TX, says KHOU.
